Q: What programs do children with DS usually take part in?
A: Most children with down syndrome take speech and physical therapy early in their lives.
Q: What type of learning environment do the children usually do the best in?
A: It depends on the child, some may be able to successfully integrate into regular schooling, others will be put into special education. The main focus we offer at DSASD is to help parents take the right steps to help their child as much as they can.
Q:What is the purpose of your organization?
A: To aid in the enhancing of the quality of life for people with Down Syndrome.
Q: Why do you think the social perception of people of Down Syndrome is so negative?
A: The perception of Down Syndrome comes from a lot of people being misinformed on the topic or not know anything about it. People just look at a kid or adult with Down Syndrome and begin to feel uncomfortable because of the unfamiliarity. If more people were informed on the topic the world we live in would be much better for people with Down Syndrome.
Q: Is there any additional comments?
